Dry White Wines

Viognier  - Wine Enthusiast Magazine Rating of 84 Points

Bronze Medal Winner at the Virginia Wine Lovers Competition. The origin of the Viognier grape is unknown but it is believed that the grape was brought to Rhone regions of France by the Romans in 281 AD.  Viognier was once a common grape grown all over France.  Because of the damage to the vineyards during World War One,  it is a rare white grape grown almost exclusively in the northern Rhone regions of France. The Viognier grape is fast becoming the Champagne style grape in Virginia.  Fermented in stainless steel and aged in Hungarian Oak for just 30 days, this white wine is fruity and refreshing. 50 Cases Normally Produced.

The dry sunny days of early September give the grapes the optimal conditions to arrive at peak maturity with maximum flavor to the grape. Our 100% Chardonnay fermented and aged in stainless steel has natural crispness with hints of the fresh fruit flavors of apple, pear, citrus and melon. Miracle Valley Vineyard Chardonnay leaves a lasting and pleasant palate impression.  Because of its light fruity flavor, it also serves as an excellent cool refreshment on hot summer days.

Reserve Chardonnay

Silver Medal Winner at the Finger Lakes International  Wine Competition.  Miracle Valley Vineyard has 2 Reserve Chardonnays.  Style one starts with in stainless steal tanks for fermentation and then ages in Hungarian Oak for 1 year.   This imparts a lightly oaked finish to the wine creating depth and smoothness not experienced in wine that is aged in tanks.  Our second Reserve Chardonnay(award winner) migrates to new American-Oak barrels immediately upon the start of fermentation and spends up to 2 years there.  This imparts a robust Oaky finish with great depth and character. 24 Cases of Each Style Normally Produced.

Dry Red Wines

Meritage  - Wine Enthusiast Magazine Rating of 84 Points

Silver Medal  winner at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.   In 1988, a group of American vintners formed the Meritage Alliance to identify and promote handcrafted wines blended from the tradition "noble" Bordeaux grape varieties.  In order to use the name "Meritage" on our wine, we had to obtain a license from the Meritage Alliance and agreed to strict blending standards. Miracle Valley Vineyard's Meritage is a blend of three red "noble" Bordeaux varieties-  Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot.  This estate grown Silver Medal winner is smooth, has a silky texture and is complex with a robust structure. 24 Cases Normally Produced.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Gold Medal  Winner from Virginia Wine Lovers Competition and Bronze Medal Winner from Eastern Seaboard Wine Competition. Our Flag Ship wine which is estate grown and aged for a year in American and French Oak.  This grape is a relatively new variety, the product of a chance crossing between Cabernet franc and Sauvignon blanc during the 17th century in France.  The Cab Sav grapes have thick skins and the vines are hardy and resistant to frost. With soft tannins and a balance of fruit and spice this award winning estate grown 100% varietal wine is great with steak or roasted meats. 48 Cases Normally Produced.

Cabernet Franc  -  Wine Enthusiast Magazine Rating of 83 Points

Gold Medal  Winner from Virginia Wine Lovers Competition; Bronze Medal Winner at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition; Bronze Medal Winner from Eastern Seaboard Wine Competition. Our 100% varietal estate grown Cabernet Franc shares many of the same phnolic and aroma compounds as our Cabernet Sauvignon but with some differences.   It has more pronounced perfume with notes of raspberries, black currants and violets.  It has slightly less tannin than our Cab  Sav and it was produced to have a smoother mouth feel. 200 Cases Normally Produced.

Silver Medal  Winner at the Virginia Wine Lovers Competition. The name is thought to derive from the old French word for young blackbird, probably from the color of the large grapes on the vine.  Merlot grapes grow well in Virginia because of the climate which lends itself towards long days and hours of sunshine with cool nights.  Our merlot has a medium body with hints of berry, plum and currant.  Its softness and fleshiness makes our Merlot a popular wine for people that enjoy wines less sterner than Cabernet Sauvignon.   Our 100% varietal  fermented and aged in Hungarian Oak imparts lightly oaked characteristics. The result is moderate tannins wine. 200 Cases Normally Produced.

Semi Sweet Red Wines

Cobbler Mountain Red - Wine Enthusiast Magazine Rating of 81 Points

A blend of Chardonnay and Merlot with a residual sugar of approximately 2 %.  A beautiful sunset amber color with hints of strawberry and cherry, with a delightful fruity finish.  It is a desert style wine which even dry wine drinkers love.  Our number one seller during summer months.

Dessert Wines

A blend of Concord, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cab Franc and Tinta Madeira Port, this wine is an explosion of flavor with a wonderful rounded finish.  The concord gives this wine an familiar aroma reminiscent of youthful  excursions into the neighbors grape vines. The Chardonnay, Merlot and Cab Franc create a  complex balance of flavor spikes on the palate and the Port completes this flavor journey with a rich velvety finish.

This is a traditional dessert wine with a deep satisfying flavor and very full bodied with approximately 18% alcohol.  The majority of the wine is Tinta Madeira Port with just enough Merlot to extend the tasting experience on the palate.  Plummy, with dark cherry undertones this wine has a long, clean finish."
